AC Mains Conducted Emissions: EMI Receiver Recommendations
Select an EMI receiver for AC mains conducted-emissions work with the detector, LISN, dynamic-range, and report workflow required for your compliance path.

Define whether this is debugging, pre-compliance, or certification support
An AC-mains conducted-emissions bench needs more than a frequency range. Define the applicable standard, frequency span, LISN type, mains voltage and DUT power, detector order, RBW, dwell time, limit line, and report requirements. A spectrum analyzer with an EMI option can be useful for development; a compliance receiver and calibrated LISN are required when the purpose is traceable certification preparation.
Recommended instruments
| Model | Useful published capability | Best fit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Rohde & Schwarz ESR3 / ESR7 | CISPR 16-1-1 compliant; 9 kHz to 3.6 or 7 GHz; 10 Hz to 10 MHz measurement bandwidth; FFT time-domain scan options | Formal EMC labs and teams needing compliance receiver capability plus diagnostics |
| Keysight N9048B PXE | 1 Hz to 44 GHz; supports CISPR 16-1-1:2019 and real-time scan up to 350 MHz | Advanced EMC work spanning conducted and radiated diagnostics |
| SIGLENT SVA1015X plus SVA1000X-EMI option | Chinese brand; 9 kHz to 1.5 GHz; EMI filter, quasi-peak detector, limit lines, and optional near-field probes | Development pre-compliance and fault finding before external-lab booking |
The SIGLENT configuration is a pre-compliance diagnostic recommendation, not a claim that it replaces an accredited test laboratory or every compliance receiver workflow.
Buy the whole conducted-emissions chain
Place the receiver, LISN, transient protection, cables, adapters, calibration records, and report software in one quotation. Verify receiver input limits against the LISN output; confirm correction factors can be saved with the trace; and request a live peak scan followed by quasi-peak and average measurements using the intended limit line.
Acceptance evidence
- DUT mode, mains setting, cable arrangement, and grounding are recorded.
- Peak, quasi-peak, and average results use the specified RBW/dwell settings.
- LISN and cable correction factors remain with exported trace data.
- The test repeats after a power cycle and operator change.
